The Three Phases Of a Story Structure

A story will always portray different events and a pot. These events in a story are to be organized and arranged in a sequence and that sequence is known as a the plot. The arrangement of these events creates consistency and the reader of the story is able to click or rather understand different stages. These events have the main character who is known as the protagonist passing from one stage to another through their different motivations. In the whole story, the main character has their goals that they need to achieve. However, there are instances where the protagonist gets to divert from their goal and gets other character motivations like general desire and even avoidance. The protagonist is not immune to distractions and they will keep deviating from the main goal but the story will always have consistency and there will be a climax where the protagonist achieves their main objective or goal. Every story should have three structures. Through this article, you will learn about the elementary things contained in the story structure.

First and foremost, you will always come through the first act. This act portrays the protagonist living a normal and quite life until it reaches a time where they get interfered. Generally, authors sand literature students refer this phase as the inciting incident. In fact, without the first act, there is no story at all. It is in the first act that characters are formed and the storyline created and all other events will follow until the protagonists gets to the climax. It is during the first act that the main character gets their goal that he or she will be aiming to achieve for the rest of the acts and events. The person who is always responsible for the interference experienced by the protagonist is the antagonist. Within the first act, there will be a culmination with the protagonist making the first turning point.

The escalating events will always create the second act. Along these events, the main character will record so many successes as well as failure. The journey gets rough and for the protagonist to stay alive and eyed to the goal, they must be tougher. This is an act where the main character gets to a point of no return. This act is concluded with a fight between the antagonist and the protagonist. The antagonist will somehow defeat the protagonist in this fight.

The last or third act of a story entails having the climax of the story or rather the last battler. This is a place and phase for the protagonist to discover the hard truth about the whole process. Additionally, he will have time to reflect and learn from his failures and successes in order to perform better. Basically, the Main character will culminate the story with defeating the antagonist.
